A few words from the man himself :
When I started Death Sauce in 1989, I was 19yrs old, drivin my VW, Not sure what the future had in store. I was Bartending; Servin Beers, Shots, and Wings to Partiers all night long in a bar. You can Learn alot working behind a bar. I remember that day when I cooked and served that First Order of “Wings of Death” That was the next part of my life, I found my passion (And 20 years of madness later) Here I am, same deal, people asking me, “How Hot is it” “Are you that Death Sauce Guy” “Are you really in the Guinness Book” “Where can I get it?” I like it like that, We are sort of like a Rumor; heard about it, but who knows if its real.?? Well We do!!! Proof– 20 years later …
We are still here together, thats rare in life these days, I think thats the greatest part, We really share a bond, a link, I remember my First trade show, It was here in Jersey, I shared a 5 ft space with another company, I could only spend $75. I had made 5 cases of Death Sauce and 5 cases of After Death, Glued the labels I had printed at Staples. I was so excited to watch people try it in the daylight and not after they had 6 jagers and 4 Alabama Slammers ,It was my First time at a show- I think 1991 or 1992 I remember this big bad biker coming up, I mean, one big dude, Anyway His like “Gimme the Hottest you Got” (Yes I have heard that once or twice) I lit him up like a candle, He had a look of shock on his face, (Remember this was before extract sauces came out). He shook my hand and said “Luv ya Brother, Let me get 2 of those”— I knew from that point on this is what I wanted to do, Make People Feel Alive, Have Fun, Put a Twist on Your plain food.. Life goes so fast, I dont want to ever to say “I wish I did” ………I am keepin that way. What way you Ask?? BullShit free. I have never written a business plan, I am a Free Thinker, and I despise corporate waste. I value and respect those who understand what it is to have Passion and Work for what they believe in, Whatever it is…
I am often asked why you don’t find us Supermarkets-The Main reason you will not find our sauces in Supermarket Chains is because of a secret word in the Biz Called “Slotting” I will go into that another time and place. We have not and will not play that game here. We are Found in the most amazing Speciality, Gourmet, Wine & Cheese, Party Centers and of course Hot Shops around the Globe. No super market bs., no investors to talk about “numbers with” and steer us in the wrong direction. Yes I have repeatedly Refused offers to sell out. How do you put a price on your Passion??? On doing what you luv..You Cant buy that, Instead I have the priveledge to deliver it around the World……It is all about Fun Food and I want to share with you.
